how i work

Brefing & Strategy

I start by listening. What's being asked, who's involved, what's fixed and what's flexible. Then I dig into the users and the context, which is the part my psychology background makes feel natural. Most briefs have a stated problem and a real one, and I want both before I open Figma.

Defining the problem

I make sense of what I've gathered and write down what the actual problem is, in plain terms. It sounds obvious, but getting everyone to agree on the problem before jumping to solutions saves weeks down the line.

Action

This is the hands-on part. I sketch, prototype, and build out the flows and interfaces, working closely with engineers and product rather than off on my own. I iterate in the open and don't wait for a perfect first version.

Testing

I put the work in front of real people and pay attention to what trips them up. I would rather find the awkward bits early and fix them than defend a decision after launch.

Delivery & Systems

I see designs through to production with the engineering team, and where it helps, I set up the components and documentation that keep things consistent as the product and the team grow.

Five years, four countries

I came to design through cognitive psychology, the study of how people think, decide, and get confused, and that lens never left me.

Across five years and projects spanning the UK, Europe, and the GCC, I've designed for the NHS, for Grundfos, and for telecom and smart city programmes, always drawn to the work where the constraints are real and the stakes are high.

I'm based in London with Indefinite Leave to Remain, and open to roles across the UK and EU.

When a problem is tangled enough that most people step back, that is usually where I lean in.
